100 Migrants Arrive in Naples from Augusta as Part of National Asylum Seeker Distribution Plan

Last evening, 100 migrants arrived in Naples from Augusta (Syracuse) assigned by the Ministry of the Interior to Campania as part of the distribution plan of foreign citizens applying for asylum who have arrived in the national territory. According to the Naples prefect, Michele di Bari, the migrants - of Bangladeshi, Burkinabe, Ivorian, Egyptian, Guinean, Malian, Nigerian, Pakistani, Senegalese nationality - are 86 single men, 6 single women and two family units for a total of 8 people. The foreign citizens have been distributed among all the provinces of Campania and have found hospitality in the Extraordinary Reception Centers (Cas) active in the regional territory. There, they will wait for the necessary time for the examination of the application for international protection by the territorial commission for the recognition of refugee status.
