14th Edition of the National Don Diana Award - For the Love of My People

The National Don Diana Award - For the Love of My People, now in its 14th edition, was established by the Don Peppe Diana Committee, Libera Caserta, and the family of Don Giuseppe Diana, who was killed in Casal di Principe on March 19, 1994. For the 2024 edition, deserving of recognition are the public prosecutor of Trani, Renato Nitti, Savina Pilliu who, along with her sister Rosa Maria, has opposed the interests of the mafia for years, and Fabrice Rizzoli, founder of the association Crim'HALT. For the Mentions section: Anna Motta and Giuseppe Paciolla, the association Avis for Kenyan children, Giuseppina Casarin. In the year of the Middle Eastern conflict, the promoters of the Award decided to assign a Special Mention to Imam Izzedin Elzir and Rabbi Gad Piperno, both from Florence, for their testimony of peace. The Award will be presented in the usual ceremony on July 4th, which will be held at Casa Don Diana, headquarters of the Don Peppe Diana Committee in Casal di Principe, on the day when Don Giuseppe Diana would have celebrated his birthday. The work of the artist Giusto Baldascino consists of a Sail in a miniature version of the monument present in the city park of Casale dedicated to Don Giuseppe Diana.
