The chase began in Peace Square, where a 20-year-old from Marano, was presumably selling drugs. He noticed that the local police were close and fled on a scooter.
The pursuit lasted a few minutes, from Marano to nearby Mugnano. Thanks to the intervention of two mobile patrol units, the young man was unable to continue his escape and was stopped.
He had nine doses of crack, 29 of cocaine and almost a thousand euros in cash believed to be illicit proceeds.
The 20-year-old was arrested for drug possession for the purpose of dealing and will also answer for driving without a license and resisting a public official. He is now in jail, awaiting trial
