20-Year-Old Arrested in Naples for Aggravated Fraud Against Elderly Woman

Yesterday afternoon, officers from the Operational Unit of Naples Central Station of the Railway Police Department for Campania arrested a 20-year-old from Campania for aggravated fraud committed against an elderly lady residing in the Friulian capital. In particular, following careful monitoring of trains coming from Northern Italy, the police were able to locate and identify the fraudster upon his arrival at Naples Central Station; he was found in possession of 9,380 euros, a sum taken from the woman by pretending to be a lawyer in connection with a fake accident involving her son. The aforementioned was also found in possession of a significant quantity of precious jewelry hidden in a plastic bag, and therefore, was also reported for receiving stolen goods. During the same operation, the officers noticed another young man getting off the same train, who attracted the attention of the officers due to his suspicious behavior, was checked and found in possession of 21 valuable jewels including necklaces, brooches, pendants, and expensive watches; for this reason, he too was reported for receiving stolen goods. Over the course of the entire day, a total of 1,020 people were identified.
