The State Police of Caserta have reported a 33-year-old man, believed to be responsible for receiving stolen property.
The Public Security Commissioner of Sessa Aurunca carried out, at the residence of a subject already known to the police force, a search for drugs, finding some marijuana plants.
During the course of the activity, a bronze bust depicting Giovanni Novelli was found, hidden in an understair, a jurist of the 1900s, originally from Carinola, to whom the Prison House is named. The police recognized the work as the one already present inside the former Carinola criminal court, whose premises were entrusted by the Municipality to a cultural association.
The sculpture was seized for subsequent return and the man, not providing valid reasons for possession, was reported for receiving stolen property. The same, for the drug found, will also be reported to the Prefecture of Caserta for the administrative measures of the matter.
