33-Year-Old Man Found Critically Injured on Roadside in Sarno: Investigation Underway

A 33-year-old man was found critically injured on the side of the road in Sarno: the carabinieri have charged two local men, aged 18 and 20, with personal injury following a road accident and failure to render assistance. The investigation initiated after the incident, which occurred in Sarno on the night of March 2, allowed the carabinieri to identify the vehicle involved in the accident, its occupants, and to reconstruct the events. The status of the two young men charged is being examined by the judicial authorities, while the 33-year-old is in serious condition in the hospital in Nocera Inferiore. Many uncertainties remain about the dynamics of what happened. Yesterday, the mother of the man hit by the car demanded justice for her son. From an initial reconstruction, during the night between Friday and Saturday, some young people in a car, driving on a peripheral road in the San Vito area, spotted the silhouette of the man on the side of the roadway. From there, the request for help was immediately made. An ambulance from the 118 emergency service arrived at the scene. Doctors and paramedics immediately realized the severity of the condition. The 33-year-old was transported in critical condition to the Umberto I hospital, where he arrived in a coma due to severe injuries. Under observation in the intensive care unit, he underwent two delicate surgical procedures on the cervical spine and femur due to a fracture. His condition is desperate. The severe head trauma is of particular concern.
