A 47-year-old farmer from Vallesaccarda, in the province of Avellino, has been referred to trial by the GUP of the Court of Benevento, Roberto Nuzzo. The man was accused of alleged sexual abuses against his wife, a French citizen, and mistreatment also against his children. The contested facts date back to September 2020, when the woman had filed a complaint accusing her husband of mistreatment and of forcing her to perform sexual acts. The complaint had been archived by the Benevento Prosecutor's Office, but the woman had opposed.
After an integration of the acts requested by a new magistrate of the Prosecutor's Office, yesterday morning the procedure came under the scrutiny of the GUP Nuzzo. Having heard the requests for referral to trial by the public prosecutor Maria Colucci, the lawyer of the civil party Michele Sarno and the man's defenders Camillo Cancellario and Stefania Pavone, he ordered the referral to trial with the trial set for September 17.
