Beats and threatens his elderly mother, a 49-year-old was arrested in Ariano Irpino by officers from the local police station. During yet another argument that arose over trivial reasons, the man insulted, humiliated, beat, and threatened to kill his mother. Fortunately, the woman managed to escape the house and seek help by calling 113. The immediate intervention of the police reassured the woman and helped reconstruct the events.
It emerged that on several occasions, the son had threatened to kill her, telling her that he would slit her throat or throw her off the balcony. The mother also suffered various humiliations as a woman, as a mother, and as a wife when the son spat on her, called her worthless, insulted her with all sorts of abuses, and accused her of being neither a good mother nor a good wife. Out of love for her son, it was only in February that the woman found the courage to report him.
However, upon learning of the report, instead of ceasing his deplorable behavior, he progressively intensified his illicit conduct until he physically assaulted her and caused injuries. The 49-year-old was arrested in flagrante delicto and confined to the prison in Ariano Irpino.
