63-Year-Old Man from Avellino Arrested for Stalking a Woman

A 63-year-old man from Avellino was arrested for stalking acts against a woman. Police officers from the headquarters of the Irpinian capital handcuffed the man, suspected after the fact, of stalking acts carried out against a 73-year-old woman. Shortly before the intervention of the agents, the woman had been verbally assaulted and threatened by the man, who was also a tenant of the same building. At the scene, the victim, in a clear state of agitation, reported the incident to the agents, asserting that she had already been the subject of other threats by the 63-year-old in the past. The man, who had in the meantime left the house, was tracked down and taken to the police station. Following the investigations carried out, he was arrested and taken to the Avellino prison. Further testimonies and depositions collected from other neighbors confirmed what the victim had stated, also reporting further criminal episodes against them. Therefore, the judge for preliminary investigations at the Avellino Tribunal, following the investigative findings and the guarantee interrogation, validated the arrest by issuing an order for pre-trial detention in jail.
