A Happy Ending for Leonardo: The Puppy's Journey from Tragedy to Recovery

Little Leonardo was lying on the ground, suffering, after being hit by a car last Thursday at the Chiunzi pass, in the municipality of Ravello. He is only nine months old: he has no microchip, no identification mark. A professional from Salerno came to his rescue. She had just left Ravello after a work meeting. A wave of solidarity has started for the puppy, which will now take him to Umbria. "A story with a happy ending. Fortunately, his condition does not cause concern, even though he will have to rest for thirty days due to various fractures," explains councilor Paola Mansi. "Thanks to a Tuscan girl, in Ravello for work, who stopped and loaded the little animal into her car, we were able to intervene promptly, immediately activating the ASL veterinarians as the procedure requires." The incident: The dog, taken in charge by the municipal administration, was then taken first to Nocera Inferiore and then to Naples, at the Veterinary Hospital of the ASL NA 1 Centro for initial treatment, before finally being transported to Salerno. "This morning we paid a visit to Leonardo, together with the woman who first assisted him with the help of the motorist who had first reported the incident," adds councilor Mansi. "A story with a happy ending, also because he has already found someone who will take care of him." It is a girl from Todi, a friend of the woman who had rescued Leonardo, who has expressed her willingness to adopt him.
