A Mother's Nightmare: Poison and Abuse at Home

She suspected that her son, who had mistreated and physically assaulted her on several occasions without any reason, also wanted to poison her. The discovery by the woman of a laboratory set up by her son in the attic of their home, complete with ampoules and glass jars containing powders of various colors, led her to install closed-circuit cameras inside the kitchen. Through these cameras, she observed her son adding white powder to the pot of food and on a pen she normally used. A similar incident occurred two days later when she caught her son spraying detergent on the food intended for her. It was this last episode that led the woman to report the incident to the carabinieri of the Vitulazio Station. During her account, it emerged that, even in past years, she had been a victim of assaults by her son who, on different occasions, had hit her with punches to the face and with a headbutt. And again, more recently, he had threatened to stab her and shoot her with a spring-loaded rifle in his possession, equipped with a homemade silencer and ammunition made of iron pellets. Following the report, the carabinieri went to the home where they acquired the footage extracted from the cameras and seized the rifle and the powders present in the artisanal laboratory, which will be analyzed to determine their toxicity. The man, a 35-year-old, was arrested and taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison. He will have to answer for family abuse and threats.
