Absurd Dispute in Forio Leads to Assault on Police Officer

The story reconstructed by the carabinieri of the Forio station is almost absurd, and in this case, reality far exceeds the imagination, with a municipal police officer suffering the consequences. The incident involves a woman living in Forio on Cavalier Leonardo Impagliazzo street and a man. He is without a criminal record, 43 years old, and lives in a trailer. The two begin to argue, the reason being the residence itself. The man states: "It's not right that you live in such a house and I in a trailer!" The woman, incredulous and embarrassed, does not know this person and tries to avoid the confrontation, but the man insists. He does not accept the fact that the woman lives in a "real" house and begins to insult her, shouting epithets and gratuitous, senseless swear words. The situation escalates, but fortunately, there is a municipal police officer nearby engaged in traffic duty. The woman asks for help, and the officer intervenes. It takes only a few moments for the 43-year-old's anger to turn into violence. A series of punches hit the officer in the sternum and face, after which the assailant attempts to flee. The carabinieri, alerted by the 112 emergency number, arrive just in time and stop the man who does not resist. The arrested man is awaiting trial and will have to answer for resisting a public official and aggravated personal injury.
