Addressing Public Transport Safety Concerns in Caserta

An institutional meeting on "Safety in the Public Transport Sector" took place at the offices of the Prefecture of Caserta, requested by the governance of Air Campania following numerous acts of vandalism that have occurred in recent months against the regional public transport company. During the meeting, Air representatives expressed strong concerns about the safety of passengers, drivers, and vehicles, due to the repeated raids recorded recently in the Caserta area. Since January, there have been incidents of stone-throwing against buses on the Aversa-Mondragone route, in addition to an attempt to assault an operator and a traveler on the same route. Last weekend, the depot in Teverola was also targeted by vandals, where money and tickets were stolen. The meeting highlighted a clear willingness on the part of the authorities and the stakeholders involved to address the problem in a determined and coordinated manner through maximum collaboration between the interested parties.
