Amalfi Halts Food and Beverage Service During Good Friday Procession

Stop to the administration of food and beverages during the passage of the Good Friday procession. This was decided by the municipal offices of Amalfi, which imposed on the establishments falling on the route of the Dead Christ also the removal of all the equipment present on public soil and the placement of candles with the consequent turning off of all lights. This is to ensure the atmosphere of contrition that characterizes one of the most heartfelt moments of faith. Indeed, the traditional procession of the Dead Jesus in Amalfi is a rite that arouses emotion and suggestion and in defense of which a few weeks ago the prior of the Archconfraternity of the Sorrowful and the organizing committee intervened, who in an open letter complained about the lack of attention from commercial exercises. And so, the municipality decided to intervene by imposing a series of limitations starting precisely from the administration of food and beverages that Friday will be suspended from 7:15 pm until 10:30 pm. During the procession, all public soil concessions present along the route are thus suspended, so from 6 pm to 11 pm any equipment present on public soil must be removed, while from 7:15 pm to 10:30 pm it is mandatory to turn off any light source visible from the public road affected by the event.
