Amicar Flegrea: Revolutionizing Mobility in Naples and the Phlegraean Fields

Amicar Flegrea arrives, a car sharing and transportation project for people with limited mobility, facilitating connections between Naples and the entire Phlegraean Fields area. This sharing mobility initiative, launched in recent months thanks to the support of the Fondazione Con il Sud and a project led by Gesco, will be officially presented during the meeting 'Sustainable Mobility in the South: Achieved Goals and New Challenges' scheduled in the Ostrichina Hall of the Casina Vanvitelliana in Bacoli on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 10 am to 1 pm. The initiative aims to be an opportunity for discussion among the protagonists of the transportation world in the Phlegraean area, to contribute not only to improving connections with the city center but also to reducing the environmental effects due to traffic and emissions from traditional vehicles. The meeting falls within the initiatives of education and awareness on the themes of the environment and sustainability planned by the Amicar Flegrea project and aimed at the citizenry, with particular attention to the new generations. The morning program (starting at 10 am), after the greetings from the Mayor of Bacoli, Josi Gerardo della Ragione, includes interventions by: Giacomo Smarrazzo, director of the Gesco group; Pasquale Rovito, Digital Transition Manager of the Ente Autonomo Volturno (Eav); Anna Savarese, head of Legambiente Iride Napoli; Vittorio De Majo, head of the Amicar Flegrea project; Roberto Laringe, president of Federalberghi Phlegraean Area; Luigi Licchelli, national president of AssoSharing; Maria Paradiso, full professor of Political Geography at the Department of Humanities of the University of Naples Federico II. The journalist Roberto Calise, an expert in mobility and transport, will moderate the proceedings. Following, at 12 pm, within the Bourbon Park in front of the Casina Vanvitelliana, a musical entertainment moment is scheduled, directed by Massimo Jovine with protagonists Simona Boo and Bimbi di fumo, Nicola Caso, Federica Ottombrini, and Annibale. The Amicar Flegrea project develops two mobility services in the Phlegraean area: one Car Sharing and the other, Amicare Care, created for the transportation of people with limited mobility. It is realized using only full electric vehicles and involves the participation of numerous partners: Gesco social business group, NHP S.R.L, Controvento Social Cooperative, University of Naples Federico II, EAV, Ente Autonomo Volturno, Monte di Procida Municipality, Cras S.R.L, Legambiente Iride, and NClick cooperative.
