An Angel Among the Stars: A Charity Dinner for Naples' Youth

Monday, April 15th, at 8 PM, the historic restaurant Zi Teresa hosts the Seventh Edition of "An Angel Among the Stars," a charity dinner organized by Claudio and Giovanna Zanfagna, founders of the Progetto Abbracci Onlus Association. This event features star chefs and great interpreters of Campanian cuisine taking turns at the stoves to raise funds for the children of the most disadvantaged neighborhoods of the Neapolitan territory. The proceeds from the dinner will be entirely donated to the project "A Field for Life," with which the Zanfagna spouses commit to recovering and setting up the playing field of the Resurrection Parish in the Scampia neighborhood. The project, born in 2023, has already involved other difficult areas of the city with the aim of giving back to the inhabitants of the neighborhoods play areas where young people can meet, play, and be together. In these years, we have recovered the sports field of the Sanzio Ammaturo comprehensive institute in the Rione Amicizia, secured the municipal one of Villa Capriccio in Capodimonte, and completed the works of the football field of the Parish Maria Immacolata Della Medaglia Miracolosa in the Rione Traiano. The construction site of the field of the Andrea Angiulli school in Piazza Mario Pagano in the Sanità District is underway," states Claudio Zanfagna, "Sports activity helps teenagers channel aggressive instincts in a socially accepted manner, makes them more responsible, capable of socializing, and cooperating in harmony. For all these reasons, with the Progetto Abbracci, we decided to recover those sports facilities that, being present in problematic territories, can represent a valid help for the families residing in the delicate task of raising children." The success of "An Angel Among the Stars" is attributed to the great champions of Campanian cuisine and the star chefs who, again this year, will find themselves cooking elbow to elbow like a large kitchen brigade. In the front line, there is Carmela Abbate, resident chef of the restaurant Zi Teresa with her cuisine made of passion and tradition, where local raw materials and fresh daily catch prevail. Alternating at the stoves will also be Peppe Aversa of the restaurant il Buco di Sorrento, Danilo Di Vuolo of the restaurant Lo Scrajo in Vico Equense, Domenico Iavarone chef Grand Hotel La Favorita in Sorrento, and Lino Scarallo of the restaurant Palazzo Petrucci in Naples. Along with them will also be the consulting chef Michele Deleo and the master of dough Enzo Piccirillo from La Masardona in Naples. During the evening, Claudio and Giovanna Zanfagna will present the "Progetto Abbracci Award for Social Commitment in favor of Childhood" to Paolo Siani, surgeon and pediatric specialist, director of the Complex Operative Unit of Pediatrics of the Santobono Hospital in Naples. The evening is made possible thanks to the contribution of many friends of the Onlus.
