Anna Scala Murdered by Jealous Ex-Partner: Preliminary Hearing Set

Anna Scala was killed by her ex-partner with 14 stab wounds. The judge of the court of Torre Annunziata, Mariaconcetta Criscuolo, has set the preliminary hearing for Salvatore Ferraiuolo, the 55-year-old accused of the femicide of Anna Scala, which occurred in Piano di Sorrento on August 17 of last year. At the request of the Torre Annunziata Prosecutor's Office (prosecutor Nunzio Fragliasso, deputy Ugo Spagna), the request for indictment formulated by the public prosecutor will be discussed in June, concluding the investigations on the terrible crime of passion. Anna Scala was stalked from Vico Equense throughout the morning, until her arrival at a client's house. As soon as the woman entered a garage, Ferraiuolo burst in and stabbed her 14 times, killing her in the trunk of her car. A fisherman from Sant'Agnello, in the Sorrento Peninsula, Ferraiuolo fled and was captured by the Carabinieri of the Sorrento company in the afternoon in an isolated area. At the station, he confessed to the femicide. According to the reconstruction, the 55-year-old had repeatedly insulted and assaulted Anna Scala out of jealousy. A year earlier, he reached her at a friend's house and punched her, breaking her teeth. In July 2023, he burst onto a beach in Massa Lubrense and, armed with a knife, threatened her, then punched her and, before fleeing, slashed her car's tires. After the report, the 55-year-old threatened Anna Scala over the phone, before disappearing for three weeks and reappearing on August 17 to commit the heinous crime. Now Ferraiuolo risks life imprisonment. The family of Anna Scala, on the other hand, will ask to constitute themselves as civil parties with the lawyers Salvatore Esposito and Giovanni De Gennaro.
