Announcement of the 11th National 'Amato Lamberti' Award for Anti-Mafia Studies

Published today the call for participation in the eleventh edition of the National Award 'Amato Lamberti', established by the Study Center Cultural Association 'Amato Lamberti' chaired by Roselena Glielmo to ideally and concretely continue the work of the sociologist Amato Lamberti, an example of an intellectual who knew how to translate the results of his intense scholarly activity into the political commitment against the mafia. The mission of the National Award 'Amato Lamberti' is to 'contribute to training young scholars capable of developing analyses that advance the fight against organized crime, in Italy and worldwide'. The 2024 Call, as in previous editions, will award three prizes of 1,000 euros each for Master's and Doctoral theses that address the themes of organized crime, criminal trafficking, environmental crimes, digital crime, corruption and illegal economies, victims of the mafia and violence, also conducted with ethnographic methods and/or with the aid of audiovisual tools. Thesis works from any Italian university or, for equivalent levels, foreign university, limited to Master's and Doctoral theses, developed in any Italian or English language and that have not been previously proposed in the Lamberti Award editions, will be considered. Only theses discussed in the last three years (from 2021 onwards) in Italian and English will be accepted. Participants must submit their work by May 6, 2024, exclusively in PDF format via email to segr.associazioneamatolamberti@gmail.com, specifying that the work competes for the 'National Amato Lamberti Award'. The awarding of the Prize will be decided by the Scientific Committee, the President of the 'Amato Lamberti' Association, Roselena Glielmo, the President of the 'National Award' Nino Daniele, and the Honorary President Franco Roberti, former National Anti-Mafia Prosecutor. The announcement of the winner and the award ceremony will take place in a public session in Naples, on June 19, 2024. In addition to the National Award, the Study Center Cultural Association 'Amato Lamberti' will organize a series of cultural and training events that will touch various territories of the Metropolitan City of Naples.
