Apartment Rented for Prostitution: A 57-Year-Old Woman Charged

She had rented an apartment in Santa Maria a Vico and facilitated access for the practice of prostitution, regularly collecting the weekly rental installments, which she partly proceeded to pay to the unsuspecting owner. In the late morning of yesterday, the 57-year-old woman, already known to the police, was taken to the station and reported in a state of freedom for facilitating prostitution. The profitable activity, carried out by the same, was discovered by the carabinieri of the local station following the checks carried out during an intervention a few days ago in a bar in Santa Maria a Vico, where they identified a Colombian citizen who, in a state of agitation, was harassing some customers of the commercial establishment. The man, during the house search, carried out at the apartment sublet to him by the reported woman, was found in possession of numerous contraceptives, a mobile phone with a number dedicated to appointments, and other material unequivocally used for the consummation of sexual services. Further checks, also carried out in the following days by the carabinieri, allowed to ascertain the entry of other women and men into the same house for the purpose of practicing prostitution, as confirmed by subsequent investigative findings. During the last house search, carried out yesterday morning, the military of the Arma found and seized 6 grams of hashish.
