Today, the Archbishop of Naples, Monsignor Domenico Battaglia, visited the CTO hospital in Naples. Accompanied by the general manager of the Hospital Company of the Hills, Anna Iervolino, he offered spiritual comfort and solidarity to the hospitalized patients and those waiting in the emergency room.
The archbishop stopped in Triage, visited the neurology and surgery departments, the two orthopedics divisions and the intensive care unit. He met some patients and took the time to talk with the staff.
At the end of the visit, Holy Mass was celebrated in the hospital chapel.
"The gaze is the first form of care and the eyes always come before the hands. That look that means welcome. This morning I understood the sense of this humanization", said Monsignor Battaglia during the homily, underlining the importance of the presence of the health personnel next to the sick.
"A day of great emotions and pride. We are a community of professionals that offers competence and professionalism, without ever forgetting the values of hospitality and humanity", commented the general manager, Anna Iervolino.
