They attempted to steal a scooter but, upon being discovered, they returned to the bar and also attacked the employees. For the events that took place last August 8 near the Flanagan's Cocktail Bar in the Chiaia district of Naples, 5 people ended up in jail, including a minor. The State Police carried out a precautionary custody order in prison issued by the judge of the Court of Naples, which accepted the requests advanced by the Prosecutor's Office of Naples, against 4 defendants, as they are seriously suspected of an attempted robbery committed on August 8, 2023, in Naples, in the Chiaia district.
The investigations, coordinated, in close investigative and operational connection, by the Prosecutor's Office of Naples (seventh section, deputy prosecutor Pierpaolo Filippelli) and by the Prosecutor's Office for Minors, given the participation in the robbery of a punishable minor (who in turn was arrested today in execution of a precautionary measure issued by the Juvenile Judicial Authority) were conducted by the Mobile Squad of Naples, by the San Ferdinando Police Station and by the Ponticelli Police Station. From the victims' statements and from the vision of the images of the surveillance systems, it emerged that on the night of August 8, 2023, some subjects on scooters, arriving at the height of Flanagan's Cocktail Bar, after stopping, had tried to seize the scooter of a bar employee, parked in front of the venue, at the beginning of the work shift. One of them had broken the steering lock with his feet and was dragging the moped towards the other members of the group who, in the meantime, had remained waiting on board their respective vehicles.
Noticing the attempted theft, the offended person immediately came out of the venue, reaching the individual who, seeing himself discovered, abandoned the vehicle on the asphalt to run away together with the other accomplices. While the victim was parking the scooter again in front of a planter placed in front of a window of the venue, the group of criminals, in the meantime regrouped, returned near the bar, giving rise to a violent aggression against the offended person, who, after being heavily threatened, was forced to flee and take refuge in the bar and close the door. Not satisfied, the criminals hit the venue's window with a helmet, continuing to rant against the offended person, and then lashed out - with kicks, punches and blows inflicted with a helmet - against three other venue employees, also causing them head injuries. The attackers then moved away, losing their traces and without being able to seize the moped. For this episode - reads a note signed by the prosecutor Nicola Gratteri - E.A., M.C., G.S. and M.G. (respectively 21, 23, 24 and 42 years old) are accused.
At the same time, two precautionary measures were executed, ordered by the G.I.P. of Naples in the body of the same order, against two other defendants in relation to two thefts of mopeds perpetrated in the time span from September 8 to 13, 2023, according to an operational methodology very similar to that found in relation to the criminal affair that resulted in the attempted robbery at Flanagan's Cocktail Bar. In particular, the G.I.P. has ordered against R.A. (38 years old) the precautionary custody measure in prison in relation to two thefts of mopeds, as well as the measure of house arrest against F.C. (20 years old) as he is accused of the theft of a scooter.
