Baronissi Unveils New Free-to-Use Street Basketball Court

Inaugurated in Baronissi, on Einaudi street – in the Nuova Irno neighborhood – the new street basketball court. A regulation court freely available for the city's youth, with two baskets, complete marking of the colored areas, and fencing on all four sides. The intervention – which recovers an abandoned area of the neighborhood – is part of the overall project for the redevelopment and enhancement of freely available sports facilities in every neighborhood of the city. 'On our part,' emphasized Mayor Gianfranco Valiante during the inauguration, 'we have always been convinced that sport, especially youth sport, is a condition of health and well-being; that's why we have aimed, in our years of administration, at the realization of various sports facilities that constitute in our city, together with the existing structures, an opportunity for good sports practice. In ten years, we have opened in various districts mini soccer fields, cage fields, street soccer and bocce fields, multipurpose, padel courts, and outdoor fitness areas. A small record that Baronissi boasts of, positioning itself at the forefront for green spaces and free sports areas.'
