Benevento Cathedral to Host Special Mass and Ordination Ceremony

Tomorrow, at 6:30 PM, in the Benevento Cathedral, Bishop Felice Accrocca will preside over the Holy Mass, during which he will bless the Chrism and other oils, and the priests will renew their promises. The seminarian Vincenzo Bartolomeo Casamassa, from San Bartolomeo in Galdo, will also be admitted to the sacred orders of the diaconate and priesthood. The distribution of the oils will not take place at the end of the celebration but, in the following days, at the sacristy of the Cathedral Basilica. The celebration will be animated by the diocesan choir directed by maestro Daniela Polito and accompanied by the students of the Guacci musical high school of Benevento, directed by maestro Selene Pedicini. The oil has been offered by the Immacolatine sisters of Pietradefusi, the parish of Montemiletto, the Quarto Savina Quindici association, and the Police Headquarters, extracted from the olive trees that grow in the garden of memory of Capaci, where Judge Giovanni Falcone, his wife Francesca Mongillo, and the men of the escort lost their lives. The essence of bergamot to scent the sacred Chrism is offered, to all the dioceses of Italy, by the diocese of Locri-Gerace, an initiative carried on for years in collaboration with the Bergamot Consortium of Reggio Calabria. Carmen Santulli, from the Parish of Montemiletto, will present the oil of the sick. For the oil of the catechumens, Sara and Angelo Salerno from the Holy Spirit parish in Benevento, who will baptize their daughter, Camilla, in the coming months. For the Chrism oil, Luca Palluotto and Annamaria Marotti of the 'San Filippo Neri' Pastoral Unit - historic center of Benevento, who will receive confirmation this year.
