Benevento Commits to Green Future with the Launch of 'Think Forestry' Project

Presented at Piazzale Catullo, in the presence of Mayor Clemente Mastella, Giuseppe Mario Nargi, regional director for Campania, Calabria, and Sicily at Intesa Sanpaolo, and Gennaro Masiello, national vice-president and leading figure of Coldiretti in Sannio, the initiative, promoted by Rete Clima and Intesa Sanpaolo and joined by the Municipality of Benevento, involves the planting of a thousand plants within the vast spaces of Parco De Mita. It is part of the 'Think Forestry' project, which is itself part of the larger national 'Foresta Italia' campaign that the Municipality of Benevento has joined. 'I thank Intesa Sanpaolo and Rete Clima for making Parco De Mita a green lung for the city through this partnership. It is an initiative that looks to the future, to the new generations, to first ignite small lights and then generate brightness regarding the climate and the air quality,' said Mastella, announcing that Parco De Mita is expected to be inaugurated already this summer and will be 'a large green area available to the city for leisure, sports, events in the open-air theater. In this regard, I had a conversation with Maestro Mimmo Paladino and the director of the Giffoni Film Festival, Claudio Gubitosi, to explore the possibility of a themed area dedicated to the myth of the Witches,' he concluded. 'Widespread afforestation,' explained the Environment Councilor Alessandro Rosa, 'is a strategic target of the Mastella administration. With the planting of about 3,000 trees, we aim to absorb a thousand tons of carbon dioxide: a contribution to building a better future.'
