Between Villages and Vineyards: The First Cycle Tour from the XI Matesannio Marathon

"Between villages and vineyards" is the first cycle tour born from the XI Matesannio Marathon. The event is set for Sunday, May 26, starting from Telese Terme in the province of Benevento. The cycle tour involves a circular route of about 35 kilometers with 600 meters of elevation gain, sharing with the Matesannio Marathon an exciting and varied scenery. The route is aimed at those who wish to experience a wonderful bike tour, pedaling through villages, wineries, gentle hills, rivers, vineyards, and breathtaking views, discovering the scents and flavors of MateSannio. "This is a territory promotion project," explains Alfonso Cassella, coordinator and creator of the Mtb-Se circuit, "that brings together mountain biking, the natural and archaeological heritage, and the enogastronomic tradition of the inland areas. It starts from valorization to reach the protection of our territories, which do not enjoy an optimal geographical and logistical position. The figures for 2023 are clear: about 9,500 participations, without taking into account everything that has framed each single event. South Experience (Se) is an added value for our territories and that is why I ask the administrations to invest in ideas and projects that see the world of cycling as a protagonist." A GPS track will also be provided, allowing to travel independently.
