The book «Marika, Ancient Souls and Their Destiny» (Guida publishers), will be presented in Naples, on Thursday 22 February, at 11am in the Santangelo Hall, of the Regional Council of Campania, isola F13, at the administrative center. The author, Don Tonino Palmese, Diego Guida, Benedetta Sciannimanica and the Campanian guarantor of people deprived of personal freedom, Samuele Ciambriello, who wrote the preface to the book, will intervene.
Can reading and writing be a way to rehabilitate oneself in the eyes of others and to have a second chance? The answer is Antonino Mandalà, known as Nino, a Sicilian lawyer and politician, who after serving a prison sentence, opened a blog, became a writer and since 2015 has published several books, including, in 2019, «Letters to Laura from the world of nobody», a tight dialogue with Gianni Morandi's ex-wife, Laura Efrikian, actress and writer.
He now returns to writing again and presents a story that is a tale of love, passion and pain, telling the profiles of the men he met in the prisons where he was incarcerated with the work 'Marika, ancient souls and their destiny'.
What pushed the author to write 'when I knew the suffering of prison, writing came to my rescue, it revealed itself sudden and tyrannical. Above all, it made me discover the vocation to a higher mission of which ancient souls are protagonists, it made me stretch out my hands and caress the wounds of the side of suffering where the divine becomes tangible', confesses Nino Mandalà.
