The Municipality of Bucciano continues to invest in the prevention of hydrogeological risk. In fact, the remediation and hydrogeological arrangement works of the Viscardi valley are underway. This is an intervention of about 500,000 euros, at zero cost for the municipal coffers as it is entirely financed through appropriate measures. The activity includes, among other things, the paving of the bottom of the riverbed, through the positioning of boulders, in order to further improve the efficiency of the work by reducing the possibility of material transport downstream.
The valley then flows into already built containment basins that have been duly cleaned and will act as a relief valve for any material transported from the mountain. But work is not only being carried out on the Viscardi valley. Important, similar works to secure the territory are those that are also affecting the hydraulic-forestry arrangement of the San Simeone valley.
"These actions - comments Mayor Pasquale Matera - are probably less conspicuous, so to speak, and evident to the population compared to those that may affect the urban center. But they are probably just as important if not more so since they concern the safety of the entire community. Acting in terms of prevention - he concludes - is a priority for the municipal administration that I am honored to represent".
