Buffalo Mozzarella Consortium Embraces AI to Combat Counterfeits and Italian Sounding Phenomenon

The Consortium for the Protection of Buffalo Mozzarella PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) is turning to Artificial Intelligence as an innovative tool for the protection of a PDO product and has implemented the first project in Italy for the use of AI with the goal of combating counterfeit products and the phenomenon of Italian sounding. The initiative will be presented at a press conference on April 9th at 11 AM in the Cavour room of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forests on Via XX September in Rome. At the meeting with journalists, there will be interventions by Matteo Lorito, rector of the University of Naples Federico II and president of the Scientific Committee of the Consortium for the Protection of Buffalo Mozzarella PDO; Domenico Raimondo, president of the Consortium; Pier Maria Saccani, director of the Consortium; Angela Nobile, head of the Supervision sector of the Consortium; Giorgio Ciardella, CTO of Farzati Spa. The meeting will be moderated by Mauro Rosati, director of Origin Italia.
