Car Theft Ring Busted in Aversano Region

The escalation of car thefts, occurred in the territory of Aversano, has pushed the Carabinieri to devote greater efforts in terms of deployment of personnel and resources to counter this phenomenon. And it is through the analysis of the transits of the license plate detectors, installed between the provinces of Naples and Caserta, that the military of the Arma were able to identify and arrest a group dedicated to the laundering of parts of stolen cars. Four people, all Italians, yesterday in the Caserta area were caught and arrested by the carabinieri of the Trentola Ducenta station and now will have to answer for conspiracy in laundering. When the military of the Arma raided a farmhouse in the Nocella fraction of the Municipality of Carinola they were just dismantling a black Fiat Panda, recently stolen and already stripped of its license plates, whose passage had been monitored by the same carabinieri who followed its route. To be caught inside the garage of the mentioned farmhouse were a 35-year-old, a 39-year-old and a 50-year-old from Grazzanise, as well as a 37-year-old from Casal di Principe. Upon the arrival of the carabinieri who surrounded the building, the four, all in work clothes, dirty with grease and equipped with suitable work tools, could do nothing but lay down their tools and get arrested. Inside the garage and the apartment, the carabinieri found and seized mechanical and body parts of numerous cars as well as equipment and tools suitable for dismantling. The arrested were placed under house arrest.
