Car thieves caught in Avellino right after a theft. The Carabinieri of the Avellino Company arrested a 24-year-old and a 26-year-old and reported a 17-year-old in a state of freedom, all coming from the province of Naples and already known to the police.
The patrol of the Mobile Section was engaged in a normal patrol service when they noticed two cars whose drivers, at the sight of the Gazzella, slowed down and carried out a sudden maneuver that aroused the suspicion of the military who decided to proceed to the control. At this point, the two young men who were on board the Audi abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, while the driver of the Renault continued the march, returning shortly after to the spot, probably to recover the two fugitives. But the military managed to block the three subjects. The immediate activity allowed to ascertain that the Audi had been stolen in the inhabited center of the Irpinia capital: the vehicle had a broken steering lock and the ignition system tampered with, in addition to obvious signs of forcing the door.
In the car, the Carabinieri found a control unit, seven smartphones and various burglary tools, seized together with a flex and a second control unit, cleverly hidden in the engine compartment of the rented Renault. The two arrested, on the orders of the Avellino Public Prosecutor's Office, were associated with the Bellizzi Irpino Remand House.
