Caserta Introduces 40 New Low-Emission Vehicles to Its Green Fleet

From today in the province of Caserta, 40 new low-emission vehicles are operational, adding to the 46 hybrid or fully electric vehicles already present in the area for parcel and mail delivery. The new supply consists of four-wheeled vehicles, including cars and vans equipped with the latest generation of internal combustion engines: methane, hybrid powertrains, and full electric. Thanks to these new vehicles, from today the mail in Terra di Lavoro travels completely 'green' throughout the delivery process. The new vehicles of the Italian Post fleet have been modified and made functional to the needs of the postal service; for example, in some cars, the passenger seat is equipped with a special arrangement for the housing of mailboxes or particular shelving for the transport of parcels. Others have accessories specific to the mission of Italian Post, such as the Keyless Entry&Start system for remote driver recognition. Thanks to this technology, the doors and tailgate unlock automatically, facilitating the work of the operators. The renewal of the corporate fleet with a sustainable perspective is part of the new 2024-2028 industrial plan: 'The Connecting Platform', which aims at the transformation of logistics and the evolution of a business model at the service of customers, with the goal of looking at a new segment made up of small and medium-sized enterprises, contributing to the end-to-end logistical development of a postal network and a network increasingly driven by parcel management. A further step forward for the group led by CEO Matteo Del Fante towards achieving the carbon neutrality goal by 2050.
