Caserta Man Arrested for Illegal Arms Possession

The State Police of Caserta have arrested a 53-year-old man from Caserta, for possession of illegal weapons. The Mobile Squad of the Caserta Police Headquarters, in executing a search decree issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, reached the man's residence, already subjected to the measure of mandatory police reporting and with a history of drug and weapons-related crimes. Inside the house, in a space used as a workshop, the police found a laboratory equipped for the construction and modification of firearms. Hidden in a box, they also found four pistols, both constructed by the man and functional, in addition to two modified air rifles, numerous ammunition, and parts of other weapons. The subject, after the formalities, was declared under arrest and the material found was seized. By order of the Judicial Authority, the man was placed under house arrest, pending the validation hearing.
