Caserta to Overhaul 16 City Streets with a 3 Million Euro Project

An executive project has been published for the refurbishment of 16 streets in the city of Caserta, involving various neighborhoods. At this point, the project is only awaiting funding (about 3 million euros from Fsc funds) from the Campania Region to proceed with the realization of the work. In particular, the interventions will concern: via La Pira, via San Gennaro, via Battistessa, via Sardegna, via Tazzoli, via Don Bosco, via Memma, via Galilei, via Turati, piazza Matteotti, via Mantegna, via Sturzo, via Terracciano, via Sant'Antonio da Padova, corso Giannone, via Sicilia. The main objective of the project is to restore and return to normal use important road sections through radical extraordinary maintenance interventions, which, due to the presence of potholes and/or subsidence of the road surface, create problems for vehicular traffic. 'Many sections of asphalt of our roads,' said Mayor Carlo Marino, 'are dated and, consequently, show damage related to age. In other cases, there are also damages caused by works not properly executed by the managers of water, electricity, sewerage, telephone, and gas networks. With this project, we carry out a complete refurbishment of many road arteries of the city, which will allow us to solve the problem definitively, without having to resort to temporary measures that are only partially useful.'
