Castellabate to Begin Construction of a New Roundabout to Improve Traffic Flow

Construction works for a roundabout at the intersection between Corrado Grande Street and Beato Simeone Street in the Sant'Andrea area, at the entrance of Santa Maria north, are ready to begin in Castellabate. The start of the operations will be inaugurated on Monday, March 25, at 9 am. The works are aimed at providing adequate and requalified road mobility in an area known to be critical for vehicular traffic. In this way, it will be possible to reduce the various problems related to traffic flow, decreasing the risk of accidents especially during the summer period. The roads affected by the interventions represent absolutely important routes, considering they coincide with the entrance of Santa Maria di Castellabate and the beach area of the Lago district. 'The construction of the roundabout at the entrance of Santa Maria north is just one of the many interventions we are carrying out on the front of municipal mobility to improve some critical issues present in different parts of our territory. This artery, daily but especially during the summer period, is highly trafficked and therefore it is our goal to requalify it and make it as safe as possible,' says the mayor of Castellabate, Marco Rizzo. 'We want to significantly reduce any type of risk related to road mobility. The intersection between Corrado Grande Street and Beato Simeone Street is among the most important junctions of Castellabate. With the installation of the roundabout, not only will vehicular fluidity benefit, but also the urban decor of the affected area will be beautified,' emphasizes the Public Works Councilor, Nicoletta Guariglia. 'Our constant commitment to ensure full safety on the roads throughout the territory of Castellabate continues. These days we are also completing the refurbishment of the horizontal signage. The summer season is approaching and with it will also increase the municipal traffic. We will be ready to manage everything with great calm and effectiveness,' highlights the councilor, Raffaele Di Gregorio.
