Celebrating Sophia Loren's 90th Birthday: A Special Exhibition in Sorrento

On the occasion of the 90th birthday of the iconic Italian actress Sophia Loren, the city of Sorrento is preparing to host an extraordinary event that celebrates her life and her deep connection with this beautiful coastal location. The Piacere Sorrento Association, in collaboration with the Raffaele Celentano Gallery, LABout by Stylo Project, About Sorrento, and with the valuable support of the English Inn and the patronage of the Municipality of Sorrento, is pleased to present an extraordinary photographic exhibition dedicated to Sofia Loren. The exhibition, which opens on Saturday, April 27 at 7 pm, will be held in the suggestive Vicolo II Fuoro, the narrowest alley of Sorrento, leading towards the characteristic fishing village of Marina Grande, a place that was the setting of the film with Vittorio De Sica 'Pane Amore e...' of particular importance for the growth of the unforgettable diva of Italian cinema. The initiative is the first activity of the 'Ars Fuoro' project of the 'Piacere Sorrento' association, which aims to safeguard the artisanal destination and the historic shops of the quadrilateral of Via Fuoro, Via San Nicola, Vico II Fuore, and Vico III Fuoro. Crossing the alley, visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the life and career of Sophia Loren through the collection that the photographer Raffaele Celentano has gathered over the years and which offers a unique and intimate look at the actress's life, capturing precious and unforgettable moments that have defined her legendary career in cinema and beyond. The exhibition represents a tribute not only to Sophia Loren but also to the city of Sorrento, which has played a significant role in her life and in her heart.
