Cellphone Theft at Aversa Train Station Leads to Quick Arrest

In Aversa, a man stole a cellphone from a 68-year-old woman from Parete. The woman, who was near the Norman train station waiting for her daughter's boyfriend to accompany her home, was approached by a hooded man who, with a swift move, snatched the phone she was holding and fled. The victim's son-in-law, who was nearby with his car and witnessed the theft, chased after the man. A patrol of Carabinieri, who were alerted by the son-in-law and were passing by the area, spotted and pursued the criminal. Seeing them, he discarded the stolen cellphone before continuing his escape in the opposite direction. The 22-year-old from Morocco was caught and taken to the station, where he was charged with theft while remaining free and was issued a mandatory expulsion order by the Municipality of Aversa. The cellphone was recovered and returned to its owner.
