Cocaine was discovered in the women's section of the Avellino prison. It was Spike, the drug-sniffing dog from the Avellino Anti-Drug Canine Unit, who found the narcotic substance.
25 doses of pure cocaine were found in clothes that were to be delivered to the inmates: these are garments coming from outside the prison and stored in some warehouses which the prisoners can access.
The USPP, with president Giuseppe Moretti and regional secretary Ciro Auricchio, congratulates all the staff and the colleagues from the canine group. Both then complain: «Avellino is missing 60 officers and, with difficulty, it is still possible to maintain order and internal security».
