Collaboration Agreement Signed in Salerno to Preserve and Promote Medical Heritage

On Thursday, March 7th, at the Marble Hall of the Municipality of Salerno, at 10 am, Riccardo Luca Guariglia, Abbot Ordinary of Montevergine, and Enrico Indelli, President of the Salernitan Medical School Foundation, in the presence of the Mayor of Salerno Vincenzo Napoli, will sign a collaboration agreement aimed at the synergistic action of protection, conservation, knowledge, and enhancement of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage in their possession, linked to the world of medicine, historical pharmacies, and medicinal gardens, including herbals, museum and bibliographic collections, and everything deemed useful for their projection in a national and international framework of excellence. Particular attention is paid to the younger generations and to a holistic approach to the themes of the agreement, which prospectively considers its objectives also those attentive to biodiversity, new professions, and a general well-being of the involved communities. The Abbey of Montevergine, heir to the great monastic tradition of the Order of Saint Benedict, which from the Middle Ages to our days has preserved ancient knowledge and has dotted the entire Euro-Mediterranean basin with places of care and knowledge, and the Salernitan Medical School Foundation, heir and guardian of the greatest medical tradition of antiquity, will commit to a common and synergistic path made of meetings, planning, community involvement, promotion of sites, and knowledge.
