Erre will take the place of Colonel Salvatore Minale, who, after a fruitful mandate of almost 3 years, will assume a prestigious position in Molise. Minale, who arrived in 2021 after having commanded various operational and territorial units of the corps, including those in Ravenna, Milan, Busto Arsizio, Rome, and Naples, in addition to leading the anti-counterfeiting group for currency and other means of payment at the Ministry of Finance, will now take on the role of Regional Director of Molise as Chief of Staff, a role in close collaboration with the General Commander, General Luca Cervi. Under the leadership of Colonel Minale, the provincial command of the Guardia di Finanza in Avellino achieved a significant result in March 2023, seizing the highest value of tax credits ever recorded in Italy.
A fraud of unprecedented scale has been uncovered, totaling about 1.7 billion euros related to eco-bonuses and building bonuses, with searches carried out on 21 suspects for the crime of criminal association aimed at aggravated fraud against the State, in various provinces including Naples, Avellino, Salerno, Milan, Lodi, Turin, Pisa, Modena, and Ferrara. Colonel Erre, 48 years old, originally from Amelia (Terni) and a graduate of the school of economic-financial police, arrives at the provincial command of the corps after successfully leading the Pef unit of the Guardia di Finanza of Trieste since September 2020.
Erre has led one of the most significant undercover anti-drug operations ever conducted in Europe, culminating in 38 precautionary orders and the seizure of 4.5 tons of cocaine with an estimated market value of about 250 million euros. With the support of the Gico and the Goa, and under the coordination of the chief prosecutor Antonio De Nicolo of the anti-mafia district directorate of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the public prosecutor Federico Frezza, Erre dismantled one of the main channels of Colombian cocaine trafficking in Italy.
