The work for the preparation of spaces for sports activities at the schools of Gromola was delivered to Capaccio Paestum on Monday, February 12, thanks to the completion of the geodesic dome. The total amount of the work amounts to 1,132,754 euros. The intervention is funded with funds from the Pnrr. The same operation is planned for the geodesic dome of Licinella: the contract for the arrangement and functional adaptation of the external area of the school complex to be used as a sports facility for educational use is being stipulated.
Both in the intervention of Gromola and in the one planned in Licinella, the planned works consist in the completion of the covering that wraps the geodesic structure with a double layer of white pvc cloth with high energy saving and in the realization, inside, of a multipurpose sports field, as well as all the necessary electrical and lighting systems. In particular, the intervention of Gromola provides for a service block to support athletes and staff adjacent to the geodesic structure, as well as the arrangement of the external area, with the creation of pedestrian and drivable paths as well as parking spaces. The service block will be equipped with a photovoltaic system in order to achieve significant energy savings.
"With the completion of the geodesic dome of Gromola, to which the dome of Licinella will soon be added, our action in favor of both school and sport continues - says Mayor Franco Alfieri - We will deliver to students suitable spaces in which to practice sports activities during school hours but also outside of it. In fact, Capaccio Paestum is enriched with two more sports facilities, with the awareness, as our Constitution says, of the "educational, social value and promotion of psycho-physical well-being of sports activity in all its forms"".
