Coni President Giovanni Malagò Visits Sannio: Inaugurates Modern Sports Center

This morning, the president of the Italian National Olympic Committee (Coni), Giovanni Malagò, visited Sannio. His first stop was at the rugby field, which Coni helped to restore with funds allocated after the flood of 2015, followed by the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Skating Rink. The Skating Rink will be a competitive sports center of the modern generation, featuring comfortable changing rooms thanks to the use of the existing building. It is enabled to also host artistic and competitive skating competitions of national level, but will remain available for community activities, when there are no official competitions or trainings of the various teams enrolled in regional or national championships on the calendar. This was the reason that last year led to the implementation of a variation from the initial project of "recovery and enhancement" funded with the Pics, approved by the municipal council. "It's been a great day and compliments must be made to the mayor and his administration for being able to recover an abandoned area on which this new structure has now been built. These occasions put me in a good mood and give me energy," said the Coni president, who together with the mayor, the prefect Carlo Torlontano, and the authorities, spoke at the margins of the ribbon-cutting ceremony. "Satisfied for all the citizens but, especially for the young people - the mayor Mastella added - who will now be able to benefit from this sports facility. As an administration, we had the stubbornness to carry forward this work, unique both in the city and in the province, and that, as Malagò promised me, will host significant national initiatives for roller sports."
