Construction Site Inspection Leads to Charges for Violating Health and Safety Regulations

During checks carried out in Val Fortore, Benevento, aimed at verifying compliance with health and safety regulations in the workplace, the carabinieri of the Montefalcone di Val Fortore station and the labor inspectorate unit of Benevento have reported a building contractor to the Judicial Authority while he was free. The soldiers accessed a construction site set up for the renovation of a building, noting that the entrepreneur had allowed the use of an electric generator with a non-functioning life-saving device and had not provided sanitary services on the site; violations for which fines of over nine thousand euros are foreseen. The construction site activity was suspended until the safety conditions were restored, and the relevant administrative penalty of three thousand euros was imposed on the entrepreneur, who is a person under investigation and, therefore, presumed innocent until a final sentence.
