Cotton Candy: A Sweet Invitation to Life

"Sometimes happiness can sweep away the pain. Hope, after all, may not die entirely. One can live, once again, sweetly. With a bit of sugar". This is an invitation to live life sweetly, as in "Cotton Candy", a novel by journalist Valentina Pelliccia, already winner in 2004 of the seventh edition of the "Valerio Gentile" National Narrative Competition. The book is now being republished by a new publisher, Pagine Editore. It starts "from a rosy condition seen through the eyes of a teenager who is moving towards youth with hopes, desires, dreams of the 'prince charming'" - writes in the book's preface Professor Pietro Magno - "from the first kiss, to approach more and more the final act, the true drama, the catharsis, which has only one terrible name: 'violence'". The book also ranked second in the "Published Works" section of the 2012 Literary Creativity Competition. In August 2020, Valentina Pelliccia was also awarded for "Cotton Candy" in the Narrative section of the second "Three Colors" Literary Contest, within the 22nd edition of the "Inventa un Film" International Film Festival, conceived and directed by Ermete Labbadia. The author, a journalist, has a degree in legal disciplines with master's and post-graduate titles in Communication, Institutional Relations & Marketing.
