Couple Arrested for Falsifying Pedigree Documents in High-Value Puppy Fraud

The Carabinieri Forestali of the Cites Unit in Naples, with the support of the soldiers of the Maddaloni Company, have arrested a couple from San Felice a Cancello, deemed responsible for the falsification of documentation (the so-called Pedigrees) necessary for the sale of puppies at high prices. In particular, a 41-year-old man was jailed while his 43-year-old wife was placed under house arrest. The couple's arrest occurred as part of the investigation conducted by the Carabinieri Cites Group - Anti-Poaching and Animal Harm Crimes Operational Section (Soarda), the Carabinieri Forestali Unit of Ravenna, and the Mobile Squad of Ravenna. The precautionary custody orders were issued by the Judge for Preliminary Investigations of Ravenna, Andrea Galanti, upon request of the Republic's Prosecutor (deputy prosecutor Marilù Gattelli) for the crime of transnational criminal association aimed at the illicit trafficking of numerous puppies similar to French bulldogs and for fraud in commerce, as puppies were sold at very high prices as if they were of breed, but in reality, they had no commercial value.
