Crackdown on Counterfeit Clothing: Over 200 Items Seized

In recent days, the 'Guardia di Finanza' (Finance Police) of the provincial command, as part of targeted checks aimed at combating the marketing of counterfeit products, have seized over 200 pieces of clothing at a store that is part of a well-known group with outlets throughout the region. Specifically, the Guardia di Finanza carried out a raid at the Benevento store where, during the checks, it emerged that garments reproducing the brands of well-known clothing designers were on display. For sale were over 100 sportswear suits that reproduced misleading and counterfeit signs, traceable to the 'Emporio Armani 7' brand and an additional 40 traceable to American league NBA sports teams. Also found were over 60 jackets traceable to the brands 'Stone Island', 'The North Face', and again 'Emporio Armani 7'. The brands displayed on the seized items, in terms of size and graphics, differ from the original ones only in some details, thus deceiving the consumer. In light of the elements collected, the seizure of over 200 pieces of sportswear, currently at the disposal of the judicial authority, was thus triggered, and the owner of the clothing store was reported to the Benevento Prosecutor's Office for trading in counterfeit products and receiving stolen goods. Further investigations are underway to ascertain the origin of the illegal goods. The intensification of the corps' action to suppress the fake market prevents this phenomenon from being a brake on the growth and development of the economic system. Meanwhile, it should be remembered that the owner of the clothing store is currently under preliminary investigation and therefore presumed innocent until a final sentence.
