Crackdown on Environmental Crimes in the Land of Fires

New operations by law enforcement and the Army engaged in checks in the Land of Fires, aimed at preventing environmental crimes. The planning and definition of these operations are carried out by the prefectures and police headquarters of Naples and Caserta, supported by the control room of the Minister of the Interior's delegate for combating fires. The overall balance includes 7 seized activities, 8 people reported, and two vans seized with a load of various types of waste on board. Areas invaded by waste covering more than 5000 square meters were also seized, and administrative penalties were issued for a total of more than 70,000 euros. A series of checks were triggered on numerous production and commercial sites (with a particular focus on mechanical workshops) between Naples, Cercola, and Volla and then in the area between Cardito, Caivano, and Crispano. Similar checks were carried out in Parete, Trentola Ducenta, San Marcellino, Frignano, Casaluce, San Felice a Cancello, and Arienzo. In parallel, widespread road checks were activated in the San Vitaliano area, for extensive screening of the means of transport present on those routes.
