Crackdown on Illegal Public Transport at Capodichino Airport

Yesterday, officers from the Secondigliano police station, the Air Border Police of Naples - Capodichino, the Carabinieri of the Stella Operational Unit, and personnel from the Municipal Police - Airport Operational Unit and the Tourist Police Operational Unit, conducted an extraordinary territorial control service at the Capodichino airport to counteract the phenomenon of illegal public transport. During the operation, 50 people were identified, 11 of whom had police records, 40 vehicles were checked, one of which was subjected to administrative seizure and one to administrative detention, and 8 violations of the road code were contested against various taxi drivers and NCC (rental with driver) operators for failing to undergo periodic inspection, for illegally using a vehicle for NCC activities, for picking up clients outside the municipality that issued the license, picking up clients outside the designated area, and for not issuing a payment receipt. They were also reported to the non-scheduled public transport office of the Municipality of Naples. Finally, the operators sanctioned a street vendor and also notified him of an expulsion order.
