An anti-drug service in broad daylight, carried out this morning in the central Piazza Garibaldi, at Villa Literno, by the carabinieri of the local station with the support of canine units of the Carabinieri Nucleus of Sarno. With the square full of passers-by, the drug-sniffing dog Luna, thanks to her infallible nose, immediately targeted the 20-year-old of Egyptian origin who, noticing the presence of the carabinieri, tried to get away and lose his tracks in the streets of the center.
However, his attempt was in vain, as Luna never lost sight of him. After a few hundred meters he was reached and stopped by the carabinieri of the Villa Literno Station. The young man stopped was immediately identified and searched. The military of the Arma thus found, hidden in the pocket of the jacket, inside a pack of cigarettes, 9 bars of hashish weighing over 10 grams.
The recovered drug was seized. The 20-year-old, taken to the barracks, was arrested and taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison. He will have to answer for possession for the purpose of drug dealing.
