In the fight against crime, the mayor of Castelvenere, Alessandro Di Santo, in a note addressed to the Prefecture, denied that youth patrols have been established in the town to monitor the most sensitive areas. This was discussed this morning during the technical coordination meeting of the interforces, chaired by the prefect Carlo Torlontano, with the participation of the chief of police Giovanni Trabunella and the provincial commanders of the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza, Enrico Calandro and Eugenio Bua.
The focus was on the trend of predatory crimes in the provincial territory and, in particular, in Airola, Castelvenere and Montesarchio, with a specific focus on recent episodes of house burglaries. Although the analysis of crime statistics did not reveal any particular difficulties in terms of maintaining order and public security, it was agreed to increase the awareness of surveillance and control services in the territory.
As for the events in Castelvenere, Di Santo specified that any security initiatives will be regulated, under the care of the Municipality, within a specific agreement to be signed in the Prefecture, which provides for the establishment of "neighborhood checks" with tasks of mere observation and reporting to the police of situations that could constitute a source of danger for order and public security.
