Dinner Time Drug Bust in Sant'Antimo

It's dinner time and in Sant'Antimo the carabinieri are engaged in an anti-drug operation. The military have their eyes on an apartment where they know a pusher is in action. The wait lasts for several hours, but suddenly two boys arrive on a scooter. Francesco Coppola, a 28-year-old local already known to the law enforcement, opens the gate. The exchange is lightning-fast: in one hand the package, in the other the money. The customers flee and the 28-year-old goes back into the house, but the military surround the building. Two carabinieri are in front of the entrance door and knock, but Coppola decides to throw a bag containing drugs into the garden. The 28-year-old doesn't know that there is another military man already in the garden who picks up what was thrown. In the bag, there are 63 grams of hashish and marijuana already divided into doses. Meanwhile, the search proceeds and in the apartment, the carabinieri find and seize another dose of marijuana and 5 doses of cocaine. Also seized were a precision scale, a blade soaked in drugs, bags for packaging the drugs, and 290 euros in cash considered proceeds of the crime. The 28-year-old has been arrested and will have to answer for dealing.
